David C Lee Retail Consultants has announced two senior appointments. Peter James has joined the company as a project director and is currently based in Guangzhou handling two hypermarket operations managed by David C Lee. Mr James has more than 17 years experience in large- scale retail hypermarkets and superstore operations both in Britain and the United States, having worked with Sainsbury's, Carrefour and Cullens. Pat Sun has joined the company as a retail consultant and will be undertaking retail viability studies and consultancy work throughout Asia. Ms Sun has more than 10 years experience in the retail field specialising in superstores and hypermarkets. Miramar Hotel & Investment has appointed Sylvia Chu Chung Wai-man as general manager of Hotel Miramar. Ms Chiu has more than 10 years management experience, including posts with Century City Group, Regal Hotels Group, Wharf Cable TV and Ernst & Young. While she has spent the last six years in marketing, promotion and publicity, Ms Chiu gained her earlier administration experience in the commercial sector. Ronnie Lim has been appointed general manager of the Grandview Hotel Macau, which is scheduled to open at the end of next month. Before his appointment, Mr Lim spent three years in China as general manager of the Ramada Hotel, Qing Dao, and Chang Ah Club, Beijing. Mr Lim has 30 years' experience in the hotel industry. Scholl (Asia) has appointed Amy Fung as a chiropodist at the Scholl Chiropody Services Centre in Tsim Sha Tsui. Ms Fung previously worked as a trainee chiropodist at the centre, before going to Britain last year to study in Sheffield where she became a Member of the Institute of Chiropodists (MInstCh). Before joining Scholl, Ms Fung was a registered nurse at a hospital under the Hospital Authority. She holds a nursing degree. The Leading Hotels of the World has announced the opening of its Hong Kong office with Winnie Ho as regional sales manager, Hong Kong- Taiwan. Formerly regional sales manager, Asia, of The Oberoi Group, Ms Ho has also held various executive positions in Swire Travel, Maersk Hong Kong and CCH Australia, among others. She will be responsible for building up strong inter-personnel relations with the travel trade industry throughout the territory. Ms will also oversee links with local and multinational companies in Hong Kong and Taiwan which were previously serviced by the Leading Hotels of the World's Asia-Pacific regional headquarters in Singapore.
