ARSENAL have told England midfielder Paul Ince his future does NOT lie at Highbury.
Gunners' chairman, Peter Hill-Wood: 'As far as we are concerned, signing him is a total non-starter.
'There is no prospect of us signing Ince, good player though he is.' The reported GBP7 million chase for the player's signature is beginning to run dry with Manchester United showing no interest in exercising their first-option on the player and Liverpool already ruling themselves out of the race.
It is thought that the GBP7 million price tag and the player's personal terms and wages, thought to be in the region of GBP30,000-a-week, have proved to be the stumbling block for British clubs.
Ince is set to quit Italian giants Inter Milan and return to Britain this summer following the birth of his second child by wife Clare in Manchester last week.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has GBP20 million to spend on assembling a squad geared to win the title next term but Hill-Wood said: 'We are not prepared to pay massive transfer fees and astronomical wages for players who may have little sell-on value when their contracts expire.
'It is no secret that Arsene has considerable funds at his disposal for strengthening the squad.
