I was filled with disgust and anger while watching TVB Jade's The File of Justice V, shown on April 22.
Until then, I had found this Hong Kong version of L.A. Law to be highly entertaining and full of witty, amusing dialogue spoken by the three male lawyers.
Because of this, I was a loyal viewer.
However, things went badly wrong at around 10.30pm (the programme had started later than scheduled), when one of the lawyers made a terrible remark, saying that men liked to mess with two things, one was politics and the other was a 'woman's sex organ'.
The actor was both casual and overbearing when he uttered the remark. Did it ever cross the minds of TVB management that intelligent women watch this programme? I don't want to hear any excuses like they were just trying to make the character more vivid, or that they could not have foreseen the offence the remark would cause.
Because of this incident, I have lodged my first-ever complaint with the Television and Entertainment Licensing Authority (TELA).
