US gymnast dies in car crash

Houston: Hilary Grivich, a member of the 1991 US gymnastics team, has been killed in a car accident on a Houston freeway. She would have been 20 on May 23.

The car she was driving spun out of control and flipped several times, crushing the roof with the gymnast still strapped inside. She was alone in the car and was dead at the scene, police said.

Grivich led the US gymnastics team to a silver medal in the 1991 World Championships.
