Wheel lock broken off by barrister
A BARRISTER broke a wheel clamp on his golf cart, which was parked illegally in Discovery Bay, Western Court heard.
Stephen Hall Franklin pleaded not guilty to criminal damage, but agreed to be bound over for one year in the sum of $1,000.
He was ordered by magistrate Ms Eda Loh to pay $20 compensation for the lock and $140 for the impoundment notice. She ordered that the criminal damage charge be dismissed.
The court heard that on October 4 last year, two security officers found Franklin's golf cart parked illegally on the pavement in Sea Bee Lane and clamped it.
The officers later saw him squatting next to the cart and striking the wheel lock with a hard object.
