I note your editorial of April 19, on how bus companies could help to reduce air pollution at bus termini.
Perhaps Securicor can as well. Aside from their trucks kept idling for long periods whenever they are parked, I noticed outside Sheung Wan Urban Council Complex at the end of April, two such trucks, one having its tyre changed and therefore on a jack (registration number supplied to the South China Morning Post), both with engines idling.
Surely this breaches regulations.
Perhaps the Post can start a campaign for legislation against vehicles idling whilst parked. No one can fail to notice how much fewer are our clear, sunny days. Do we have to wait until these are no more before the Government does something? P. JEREMY NEWTON Happy Valley
