A Hong Kong man was chopped by three men in a Macau cafe yesterday in the latest suspected case of triad warfare.
Three motorcycles were also set ablaze in the enclave as a team of senior officers from Zhuhai's Public Security Bureau prepared to make an expected visit to the enclave to discuss how to tackle the recent violence which has claimed 14 lives.
The Hong Kong man was having tea with a friend at about 3 pm when the attackers rushed in.
He suffered serious chop wounds and was admitted to hospital in stable condition while his friend was treated and discharged.
Police believe the attack was triad-related and detectives are likely to interview the two injured men to try to identify the attackers, who escaped, and a motive.
The Zhuhai team is expected to visit Macau this week to discuss with senior police officers how to contain the gangland assassinations, petrol bombings, knife attacks and the arson of cars and motorcycles.
