Poor budgeting drove a bank officer to get a bank account and credit card in a false name and go on a million-dollar spending spree, the District Court was told yesterday. This was why Wong Tat-fai, aged 24, committed 13 offences, his counsel said. But Judge Richard Davies said overseas trips did not reflect poor budgeting. 'He stole the money, didn't pay off his debt and went on a sight-seeing tour in Thailand,' the judge said. He jailed Wong for 18 months.
