THE largest civil servants' union is suing a former employee for the return of $214,405 he used to finance his wedding party.

The Hongkong Chinese Civil Servants' Association filed the writ in the Supreme Court against Chow Shiu-ming, 46, who was employed as a clerk at its office in Lower Albert Road.

Chow was instructed to deposit money made from selling coupons and tickets in the association's bank account, but took some of the cash for his own use.
