Sevens star Isi Tu'ivai has pulled out of the Hong Kong team to take part in the Air France Sevens tournament in Paris this weekend. Tu'ivai was drafted in at the last minute, but had to withdraw due to visa problems - for France, Canada and the United States. The latter two countries are destinations Tu'ivai will be visiting early next month as part of the Pacific Rim squad bound for the away games in Vancouver (June 7) and San Francisco (June 14). Due to the last-minute nature of Tu'ivai's selection for the Paris tournament, the Hong Kong Rugby Football Union was unable to get a visa for him to France and also to North America. 'If Tu'ivai went to Paris, he would have returned with the sevens squad next Tuesday afternoon and then on Tuesday night would have had to leave for Vancouver,' said Union official Lorna Meads. 'We would not have been able to get him on the flight for Canada because there would not have been any time to process his American visas.' Tu'ivai's place has been filled by Rodney McIntosh.
