THE Junior Police Call membership has reached its 600,000th mark at the beginning of the Year of the Rooster.
Twelve-year-old Fok Ching-yan was honoured as the lucky JPC member and presented with a memorial membership card by the Regional Commander, Kowloon East, Mr Pedro Ching, early this month.
Ching-yan was the second youngest in the family in which five of her elder sisters were also former JPC members.
She decided to join the scheme at the end of last year and went to the City and New Territories Administration office for an application form.
''By joining the JPC, I can make use of my free time by taking part in various recreational activities and social service,'' said Ching-yan.
Ching-yan, a Form 1 student at Wellington Secondary School, loves badminton and camping.
