The Airport Authority has awarded the prized $205 million contract to provide airfield ground lighting on the northern runway of the new airport to British company Thorn Lighting (CLK).
The work includes the design, manufacture, supply, delivery, installation, testing and commissioning of ground lighting for the runway and its associated taxi-ways.
It also involves integration with the southern runway system.
Airfield lighting at Chek Lap Kok Airport will be among the most advanced in the world, offering energy savings of about 200,000 watts a year over the system at Kai Tak airport.
In a separate deal, Swedish company Safegate International has been awarded a $48.4 million contract to provide aircraft parking aids at the passenger terminal.
The work includes the supply, installation, testing, commissioning and maintenance of aircraft parking aids at each of the frontal aircraft stands for the Chek Lap Kok passenger terminal building by the time the airport opens in April.
