THE thriving Radio Free Hongkong (every Thursday at Amoeba in Ashley Road) will be graced by a London artist next week, My Style. The rap and soul artist has recorded two sessions for BBC Radio One and is about to sign a record deal. My Style will join Andy Ingkavet and M-62, Pleasure Productions and special guests from 8pm on March 4. Admission: $25. Tonight: Blues singer Irene Reid is back in town again by popular demand. Originally slated to kick off on Tuesday, she suffered a few technical hitches and started her set last night instead. Reid sings at 10.30pm tonight and Saturday, and at 9.30pm on Sunday. Tickets are $100 for Jazz Club members and $200 for non-members - Reid may also play on Monday and Tuesday night, call the Jazz Club if you're interested. Amoeba fields blues rock from The Wail (their second performance). Former Blue Wail frontman William Tang joins Chai Soo, Joe and Mel. The Space Pets hammer out rock and roll favourites at the Wanch from 10pm. Funk Shui, a jazz, soul, fusion and R&B combination, entertain at Portico in Citibank Plaza from 9pm. Tomorrow: It's folk fest time at the Wanch, from 3pm until at least 2am as the ''top ten solo folk performers in Hongkong'' take to the stage. Each artist gets about an hour to belt out his or her top picks, and Richie Weintraub and Ian Geekie are among the stars. The Rickshaw Band, headed by Harald Mandell and said to be made up of North American ''suits'' _ lawyers, accountants and bankers _ play rock and roll at Portico from 10pm. The Rock Gang, a band with a penchant for oldies, take to the stage at Amoeba with a new female lead singer. Sunday: Third Party in concert at Amoeba, another production with the Sound Factory. Heavy David Sylvian/Japan influences, 4-6pm, $70 at the door. Wanch resident player Sammy plays tonight, Monday and Tuesday. Monday: The New China Blues Agency at the Cyrano Lounge, Island Shangri-La from 9.30pm. Metro Broadcasts boss Craig Quick, Noel Quinlan, Ding BasBas and vocalist Sedge cover songs that used to get people in the mood. Try to spot the Metro employees in the audience. Tuesday: The Wail at Amoeba. Wednesday: Han Shan at Amoeba. Experimental jazz which incorporates traditional instruments from around the world. Tim Wilson on sax, flutes, Chinese flutes and other wind instruments, Simon Hui on double bass and Nelson on keyboards and percussion. The Bambinos at the Wanch. Catch Marvin, Brendan and Rommie with special guest drummer Phil ''Feathers'' Ashby from A.W.O.L. Classic rock from 9pm. Thursday: Radio Free Hongkong's 13th week at Amoeba (see above).
