MURDER detectives are checking for links in knife attacks on two bank workers in Taikoo Shing yesterday.

Bank manager Yuen Poon, 39, was in critical condition after being attacked at Taikoo MTR station.

Up to 40 officers are investigating the attacks, which occurred within minutes of each other at about 7.40 am.

Chief Inspector Richard Tang Lap-chin said: 'We are looking into the backgrounds of both victims to see if we can establish either a link to each other or anything that might link both of them to a possible attacker.

'Both men appear to come from decent backgrounds with no criminal record and no links to any criminal organisations. We believe the weapon used in both attacks was either a knife or a dagger.' Police refused to say whether the men worked for the same bank.

No weapons were found at the scene of either attack - the Phase Four car park at Chai Kung Mansion or Exit D2 at Taikoo MTR Station.
