Hong Kong's next generation of fashion designers revealed their ideas about the look of the future through the Outstanding Young Designers (Image Design) Award Contest. Jointly organised by the Hong Kong Fashion Designers Association (HKFDS), the Institute of Textiles and Clothing of Polytechnic University (PolyU) and RTHK's Radio 1, cutting-edge fashion mixed with Cantopop on the catwalk at the Harbour Plaza Hotel in Hunghom. As well as raising the profile of PolyU fashion and design graduates, the show acts to ensure the standard of graduates meets the needs of the industry. The contest also forms a foundation for further contact and colloborations between PolyU and the fashion industry. The models moved to the music of nine Cantopop artists - Daniel Chan, Halina Tam, Nicolas Tse, Stephanie Che, Andy Hui, Yeung Kung-yu, Mirian Yeung, Jordan Chan and Suen Luen. Singer Josie Ho and RTHK disc-jockey Chan Wai-yip hosted the show. Leon Lai Ming and Sammi Cheng also attended. Winners of the three awards were: Most Outstanding Young Designer (Image-Design) Award: Chan Sze-wan. Most Creative Award: Ho Lai-yin, Choi Ho-yan. Best Image Performing Award (Male): Tam Hong-lok (Model: Jordan Chan). Best Image Performing Award (Female): Hui Ka-hang (Model: Suen Luen).
