HONGKONG'S leading woman tennis player Willy Chan can expect to see her name on the professional world rankings after completing her third satellite tournament. Chan, a student at the Pentecostal Lam Hon Kwong School in Sha Tin, made it through to the semi-finals in her first two professional events - the Thailand and Brunei satellites. The 15-year-old, however, bowed out to South Korea's second-seeded Kim Soon-mi in the second round of the Bandung satellite in Indonesia last week. Hongkong coach Mark Bailey was disappointed with Chan's performance as she was favoured for an upset, having beaten Kim in the Brunei tournament only a fortnight ago. Bailey said: ''Willy played well below par. There's no doubt the conditions were difficult but that's not an excuse. ''Anyway, Willy has done well for a rookie at professional level and I would expect her to be in the top 700 when the next world ranking list comes out.''
