Parents sent more than 600,000 cards of appreciation to their children's teachers this year. To mark the end of the third 'Parents also Appreciate Teachers' drive, a recognition ceremony was held at the Academic Community Hall of Baptist University. Souvenirs were presented to some 300 teachers representing participating schools, including the 23 schools which received the greatest number of cards during the year. Parents sent a total of 45,000 and 100,000 appreciation cards to teachers in 1995 and 1996 respectively. This year, the Committee on Home-School Co-operation distributed some 600,000 cards to parents via schools and PTAs, which the parents then sent to teachers.
