Liverpool captain John Barnes and teammate Mark Wright will be blowing away the cobwebs tonight when they lead Sing Tao against Italian giants Inter Milan in the China-HK Telelink Cup at the Hong Kong Stadium. Guest players Barnes and Wright have not played a match since early May, and could end up feeling the strain at the end of 90 minutes, not having trained seriously for more than a month. 'Apart from a bit of running, we haven't done much training. I'd say the Sing Tao players are fitter than us,' said Barnes, 33, who will be playing in midfield. Barnes was speaking after Sing Tao's training session at the Siu Sai Wan Stadium yesterday, which saw the Liverpool captain renewing old acquaintances. The former England international played with Sing Tao's Glyn Hodges when the pair were at Watford. He also played against Sing Tao defender Rudi Hedman when the latter was at Crystal Palace, and lived 'just down the road' from Ian Muir, another of Sing Tao's expatriates. Barnes added: 'I've played against a lot of good Italians and Inter Milan have a lot of world-class players. 'They are a world-class team and are professionals, and although they might be here on a bit of a holiday, they wouldn't want to disgrace themselves.' Inter's Paul Ince, who has been linked with Liverpool for next season, said he was looking forward to playing against the Anfield skipper. 'It's fantastic. John and myself are very good friends.' He added: 'We're not used to the humidity and we've had a long season. The lads are really tired, but once we get on the pitch we will treat this seriously.' Meanwhile, Boca Juniors captain Diego Latorre, 28, flies into the territory today to provide Sing Tao with more attacking options, replacing the unavailable Sebastian Rambert. TEAMS Sing Tao: 1-Victor Derbounov; Mark Wright, 5-Chan Chi-keung, 23-Paul Masefield, Chu Yue-tai; 16-Lo Kai-wah, 11-Chan Tsz-kong, 9-Glyn Hodges, John Barnes, 10-John Moore; Diego Latorre, 9-Glyn Hodges.
