THREE teenagers who waylaid a nightclub hostess, robbed her and then chloroformed and raped her were all convicted in the High Court yesterday.
A jury, after deliberating for nearly nine hours, unanimously found Ng Yuk-hung, 17, Leung Yu-wing, 16, and Tsoi Man-chun, 17, guilty of robbery and rape.
In view of the age of the defendants, Deputy Judge Yeung deferred sentencing until March 12, pending background, and training/ detention centre reports.
Senior Crown counsel Mr Patrick Loftus said the 21-year-old victim was returning to her Tuen Mun home in the early hours of October 1, 1991, when she was confronted by Tsoi.
She was threatened with a knife.
Her handbag was taken and she was forced to disclose the code of two bank cards. While some of the gang went to use the cards, the others guarded her.
She was later forced by Tsoi to walk up a hill to a construction site. After the others returned, one of them put a piece of paper soaked with chloroform against her nose and mouth.
