Internet porn warder's term suspended
A senior Correctional Services officer was yesterday given a suspended sentence after posting hard-core child pornography on the Internet.
Some of the pictures showed girls, some who appeared to be as young as six, performing sexual acts with adults.
Cheung Kam-keung, 32, who denied the charge of publishing obscene articles, was given a six-month sentence suspended for two years.
San Po Kong magistrate Pang Chung-ping said: 'All the pictures depicted sexual acts between adults and children of extremely young age.' He continued: 'The gravity of the offence was that not only the Internet users in Hong Kong but those around the world can have access to the pictures.' But he decided against a jail sentence, saying Cheung - who was suspended from his job pending the outcome of the case - had not made any profit and was unlikely to commit the crime again.
The steamy photos had accidentally caught the eye of an inspector at the Commercial Crime Bureau last October as he surfed the Net to do research, an earlier hearing heard.
Asia Online, an Internet service provider, confirmed the files had been sent under Cheung's electronic mail address.
