Visa International has received official approval for its Visa and Visa/Plus cards to draw Chinese currency from 1,028 automatic telling machines (ATM) in Shanghai, the company says. By the end of the year, its new Golden Card Network would be connected to all Shanghai ATMs, Visa said yesterday. Already, 100 ATMS had been connected to the network, which was designed for the convenience of foreigners in Shanghai. Shanghai was the first step in the firm's plans to extend the network throughout China, a source said. Visa is the world's biggest credit card organisation.
