Deng Xiaoping's eldest son, Deng Pufang, and daughter, Deng Rong, will arrive on June 30 to witness the handover, something their father had hoped to be able to do.

Another family member likely to join them is Deng's youngest son, businessman Deng Zifang, but it is not known whether another daughter, Deng Lin, will attend.

'It is believed to be the biggest delegation from the Deng family to Hong Kong,' one source said.

Deng's widow, Zhuo Lin, and daughter, Deng Nan, are part of the official delegation. The handover ceremony and inauguration ceremony of the Special Administrative Region are on the Dengs' itinerary.

The family will be chauffeured back to a state guesthouse for a few hours' nap before returning to attend the SAR establishment ceremony at 10 am on July 1.
