TAIWAN'S art scene is taking off, just as artistic director Lin Hwai-min said when he visited the territory last year with his theatre troupe.
Founder of the Cloud Gate Dance Theatre company, Lin won critical acclaim in Hongkong for his innovative use of Chinese opera movement, tai chi and modern dance. He returns this week with the same production Legacy, an epic dance drama about the pioneers of Taiwan.
Lin's work is a valuable contribution to the Taiwanese film, theatre and poetry scene which is gaining international attention. IT IS retro time at the Arts Centre with a special ''fun event'' on March 21: the No Biz Like Show Biz Screening Party. The audience is invited to dress in 1960s costume.
