The only existing carbon copy of the first draft of Henry Miller's novel Tropic of Capricorn has sold for US$40,250 (HK$311,500). His infamous Little Black Book, a list of lovers with star ratings, fetched US$2,645. In all, 122 letters, photographs and typed drafts were put up for auction by Miller's children. Much of his work was banned for decades in the US on charges of obscenity. Miller, who died in 1980 at the age of 88, was best known for his novels set in 1930s New York and Paris about a sexually voracious expatriate writer.
