A SEVEN-MONTH-OLD baby was abandoned by his parents in a Tsim Sha Tsui toilet block yesterday.

The boy was discovered in a wash basin in the men's public toilet at the entrance to the Kowloon Park swimming pool.

Beside him was a note from his parents, explaining they were too poor to care for him and requesting he be delivered to the Po Leung Kuk charity.

The note said his favourite milk powder was Enfamil.

Detective Inspector Cheung Cho-cheung said the baby's name was unknown, but medical checks showed he was healthy and appeared well fed.

'He looks to be a really pleasant child; he is always smiling,' he said. 'Efforts will be made to track down his parents, but finding them could be difficult.' The child is being cared for at Cheuk Yuen children's reception centre.
