Just a few weeks ago, defender Chan Chi-keung's biggest achievement apart from representing Hong Kong was winning the occasional award.

But all that changes today when the Sing Tao player, who will join Happy Valley in the new season, will be watched by millions of fans around the world - as he represents a continent.

It was his outstanding performance in the World Cup qualifier against South Korea in February that earned Chan selection to the Asian All-Stars team - the only Hong Kong player chosen.

Life was pretty quiet for the 27-year-old before the call-up came and he admits he doesn't have the pin-up image of his international teammates Ricky Cheng Siu-chung, Au Wai-lun or Wai Kwan-lung.

He isn't one of the sport's pin-ups and he doesn't make the headlines as frequently as some of his more outspoken counterparts.

Those who didn't see him play against Korea may even question his inclusion in the Asian XI - Chan himself was surprised.
