Hong Kong people universally support reunification with China, whether their support is unreserved or only in principle.

The reunification, now a reality, should have put the Chinese Government at ease with regard to a peaceful transition. Now, Hong Kong people have to learn how to live under the five stars banner and put the one country two systems into practice.

One of the things Hong Kong people would like to learn is about their national emblem.

The biggest star on the five stars flag represents the Chinese Communist Party and the four smaller stars each represent - the workers, the peasants, urban petty bourgeoisie, and the ethnic bourgeoisie.

Some Hong Kong people may like to know where they are represented in their national flag.

Another thing which some Hong Kong people may wish to learn is about how to teach their children a basic sense of justice. Hong Kong people, influenced by Western concepts of natural rights and equal opportunities, may compare Hong Kong's re-unification with the 1989 German re-unification which was symbolised by the demolition of the Berlin Wall. Children who read about China victimised by imperialism early this century may mistake one country two systems as a repetition of the notorious discrimination once perpetrated in the promenade along the Shanghai Bund.
