Liberal Party suggested laws revised by SAR

The Liberal Party suggested a number of other laws be revised by the SAR Government.

One was legislation allowing property buyers to negotiate legal fees with clients, also passed in the elected legislature's final session.

Ronald Arculli said the law had too many practical problems.

'One significant problem is that there are different treatments in contracts before and after the bill was passed,' he said.

Solicitors previously faced disciplinary action if they tried to negotiate fees.

The party also said a law forbidding reclamation in Victoria Harbour should be revised. It said the legislation would affect land planning in Central and Wan Chai.
