OOCL, Cosco cancel port bid

A consortium including Hong Kong-based Orient Overseas Container Line and Chinese national carrier Cosco has abandoned plans to build a third container terminal in Melbourne.

According to a Hong Kong Shipping News report, the consortium, Victoria International Terminals, had rejected a deadline imposed by the Melbourne Port Authority to end a dispute over the amount of rent to be paid.
