A DOCTOR used a metal pipe to fend off a raider in an armed robbery at his Mongkok clinic last night. Three men, two armed with pistols, escaped with nearly $4,000 and a patient's bank card in the attack. They entered Dr Tsang Kwong-man's first-floor clinic in Tung Choi Street and posed as patients shortly after 9 pm. One of the raiders then burst into the consultation room and threatened Dr Tsang at gunpoint before robbing him of $3,400. The doctor was hit with the pistol's handle, but retaliated by grabbing a metal pipe from under his desk and lashing out at the gunman. The robber then joined his accomplices, who had snatched $500 and the bank card from patient Mr Cheung Ka-fai, 22, and fled. Dr Tsang, Mr Cheung and nurse Ms Lau Pui-chin, 25, sustained minor injuries. They were treated at Kwong Wah Hospital and discharged.
