Macau police were on alert early today after a 14K triad leader sacked 40 followers who had been protecting casino VIP rooms. The leader, known as Kai Sze Wai (Market Wai), told the group they had been replaced with 150 men from Hong Kong and would not be allowed into the VIP rooms after midnight last night, sources said. It was not known whether the men from Hong Kong were 14K members. They were to work in at least four casinos. Sources said the sackings could have been sparked by an internal power struggle. The 14K has been involved in clashes with rival, the Wo On Lok (Shui Fong), which has one of the largest memberships in Hong Kong.
