APCO Associates, a global public affairs agency, has entered into an alliance with an independent arm of China's Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Co-operation (Moftec).
Moftec's China Economic and Trade Corporation Corporation (Consultec) will work with the Washington-based APCO to assist foreign companies identify possible corporate partners in the mainland.
Consultec and APCO, part of Grey Advertising, will provide clients with market research and surveys, feasibility studies and on-site assistance in seeking business opportunities.
APCO president Margery Kraus said the alliance gave clients informed access to all levels of government which was essential for companies doing business in the mainland.
'Foreign companies must have an understanding of political sensitivities and personal relationships which are often more important than official regulations,' she said.
Consultec will provide APCO clients with current business, economic and industry information related to China and will assist in arranging high-level meetings for visiting business delegations.
