John Alt

John Alt, a two-time Pro Bowl tackle and a fixture on the Kansas City Chiefs' offensive line for more than a decade, has announced his retirement.
Alt, 35, played his entire career in Kansas City, after being selected in the first round of the 1984 draft.
The native of Stuttgart, Germany, appeared in 179 regular-season games and 10 play-off games in his 13-year career.

The announcement was made at the team's training camp.
The mammoth 2.03-metre, 140-kilogram lineman was named to the 1992 and 1993 Pro Bowls and is one of just four Chiefs linemen to play at least 13 years with the team, joining Ed Budde, Jim Tyrer and Jack Rudnay.

Alt played in 12 games and started 11 last season.
