International copyright issues will come under the spotlight at this year's Hong Kong Book Fair. The eighth annual fair is being staged from today until Monday at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Organised as part of the overall event is the inaugural International Copyright Exchange and Printing Services Exhibition which has been set up to promote Hong Kong as the ideal copyright trading, production and printing centre in Asia. The book fair is organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (TDC). It provides a forum for book rights trading and a venue for publishers from the region to promote their products. TDC senior manager of exhibitions Benjamin Chau said: 'The territory's cultural background, legal framework . . . and experience in dealing with both the English and Chinese languages make it the ideal copyright trading point linking Asia to every part in the world.'
