Nortel investment US$150m

Northern Telecom's (Nortel) investment in China is expected to reach US$150 million by the end of next year. The firm, which entered China in 1972, has set up seven joint-venture companies and three study centres. Its biggest joint venture is Guangdong-Nortel Telecommunications, which has a capacity of three million telephone lines.
