IS THERE no stopping this man? On the way up in the fashion industry yet again is Oliver Yang, formerly general manager of Imaginex, a Wharf Group company which runs labels such as Yves Saint Laurent and Salvatore Ferragamo in Hong Kong.

He's just landed a top slot as vice-president for Asia/Pacific for Joyce-IPI, a joint venture between Joyce Ma's fashion chain and the company which owns Prada. From August 1, Yang will be responsible for all Prada activities in the region.

Replacing him at Imaginex is Eileen Bygrave, no slouch herself. She's a veteran of Asia's high fashion scene and has worked in Hong Kong before with Elizabeth Arden and Ferragamo - with whom she had a short stint in Florence - and most recently has acted as consultant to Chanel while based in Singapore, where she also produced a weekly fashion programme.

Closer to home, Christian Dior is to open a freestanding mens' store - its first in the world - in September in the new Lee Gardens arcade in Causeway Bay. The boutique will sell a range of Dior mens' ready-to-wear and accessories, and will be adjacent to a womens' store also scheduled to open then.
