Refinery to upgrade

H-share company Zhenhai Refining & Chemical Co says its refining capacity upgrading programme has started full operations. The upgrade will raise Zhenhai Refining & Chemical's integrated processing ability to eight million tonnes per year from 500,000. A total of 1.63 billion yuan (about HK$1.51 billion) was spent on the programme, a company spokesman said yesterday. Zhenhai Refining makes gasoline, diesel fuel, aviation kerosene jet fuel and liquefied petroleum gas. It owns 1.93 million cubic metres of crude oil tanks and refined product tanks. It was listed in Hong Kong in December 1994.
