WIN Label races on the Valley turf for the first time in his fairly brief Hongkong career and although his best form has been over the long 1,400 metres sprint journey, could be just about ready for the step up to a mile he faces in the last event, tonight.

He began his campaign this season with two very good back-to-back wins over 1,400 metres at Sha Tin, winning in Class Three and then stepping successfully up into Class Two. His win in Class Two was at the expense of the very useful Patrick Biancone-trained Sea Of Jasper with the pair drawing away from the rest of the field.

It is also interesting to note that the third-placed horse in that race almost four lengths behind was the same Sky High that won by two lengths in a Class One and Two event.

Due to the virus scare, Win Label had to wait 112 days for his next appearance and despite clearly needing the outing was running on nicely over the long sprint at Sha Tin finishing a close two lengths behind the promising young Derek Cruz-trained Wind Dancer.

Win Label was tried over a mile at only his second Hongkong start on ground with cut in it and although probably not ready at that stage in his career for the trip finished a respectable third just under three lengths behind Silver Arrow and Filipachi. He's by Twig Moss who won from 1,700 to 2,200 metres in France so clearly has stamina on his sire's side.

Win Label should have no problem racing on the Valley turf having already handled the tricky tight bends on the Valley equitrack, racing once on the surface last season and only failing by a neck to grab the winner Tim's Joy.
