It is all too easy to mock locally-produced English language programming. But on the basis that if you cannot say something nice, you should not say anything at all, and given that tonight at 8pm there really is not much else to watch, I intend to be as enthusiastic as possible.
On Pearl of course, there is the long-running Citylife with Fiona Carver and Jeff Wong. On World we have Eve Lam presenting Capital People (World,8pm).
Each week Ms Lam interviews some local personality. Last week she talked to playwright Raymond To and John Lee, heir to Tom Lee Music.
Tonight she talks to interior designer to the socialites Simon Jackson about interior design.
I have interviewed Mr Jackson myself and I have to say I hardly recognised the subdued figure in a frightful check jacket chatting to Ms Lam in this show. She is not an intimidating figure, so I can only imagine he is camera shy.
In this show he makes the startling claim that a few cushions can give one's home 'a whole new look' which I for one find hard to believe.
