St Paul's Co-Educational College had a red-letter day when four students scored nine As in the HKCEE.

Seventeen-year-old Kwan Wing-yan said her results meant she would be able to join Form Six at the college in the coming academic year.

Science student Wing-yan got seven A(1)s - in Chinese Language, English Language (Syllabus B), Geography, Religious Studies, Biology, Mathematics and Additional Mathematics. She scored A(2)s in Chemistry and Physics.

'I slept very well last night,' she said on the day of the exams. 'I just became nervous this [Thursday] morning.' Wing-yan said she cried when she learned of her results. She attributed her success to God who she said helped her stay calm and confident. She also had a lot of help from her parents, teachers and classmates.

'Christianity helps me get good academic results, develop a better personality, and maintain a clear mind to deal with different things,' she said.
