Starting tomorrow, teams from Hong Kong, Macau and every province on the mainland will pit their intelligence and programming skills against each other in the NEC Express Cup.

The momentous four-day clash of memories and processing power at the Chinese University of Hong Kong is being staged by the China Computer Federation and the Hong Kong Computer Society.

The cyber-Olympians have to race the clock while solving sets of algorithmic programming problems.

The champions will qualify for the annual International Olympiad in Informatics, one of five international science Olympiads initiated by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation.
