Dancers from Hong Kong were among nearly 7,000 who tapped their way into The Guinness Book of Records in New York at the weekend.

The dancers, also from Germany, Spain, Ireland, and Australia, performed Irving Berlin's Puttin' on the Ritz in front of Macy's store in Manhattan.

They were aged from one to 91.

Organisers of the event said 6,676 tappers turned out, despite sweltering heat on Sunday, to break the record for the most tap dancers to dance a single routine.

The previous record was set last year at Macy's when 6,654 dancers showed up for the event.
