AN unemployed man who took part in a $3.8 million watch raid in Central was yesterday sentenced to 10 years' jail at the High Court. Passing sentence, Deputy Judge Wesley Wong noted that Ng Chun-keung had been in and out of prison since 1982. He said there was no mitigating factor in the case apart from Ng's guilty plea, and ordered the penalty to run consecutively with the 13-year jail sentence Ng is now serving for possession and use of a firearm. Ng, 35, had admitted a charge of robbery. Senior Crown counsel Mr Francis Lo told the court that Ng and two men burst into the Artland Watch Company at Ice House Street in January 1991. They threatened the staff with what appeared to be a pistol and stole 103 watches. Ng was arrested two months later on April 2 in Tsim Sha Tsui and was later identified by members of staff at Artland. His counsel, Ms Sze Kin, said no shots were fired and no one was hurt.
