I refer to the letter from Nancy Leung, of the Hong Kong Ferry Company (South China Morning Post, August 18), in reply to my letter, in these columns, of August 9, about the departure of the 5.35am Cheung Chau ferry on July 22.

Ms Leung said ' . . . both sailings departed right on schedule on reaching their destination'.
How, therefore, can she explain that when we arrived at the ferry pier at 5.25am there was no 5.35am ferry departing from Cheung Chau pier. It was 5.25am according to my watch, my wife's watch and the clock at the ferry pier. Why does the company not just admit that it let us down this time? After all, it is not as if we are seeking any sort of compensation.
