Three local teenagers took to the ice to prove they could skate just as well as if they came from a cold country.

Rita Dolly Au Yeung Sze- wai, Carole Ren Ka-yee and Nicholas Chan Pak-ling have all passed top-level tests run by the Ice Skating Institute of America.

They took part in the Too Hot to Skate? show, to mark the 10th anniversary of Cityplaza Ice Palace, Taikoo Shing.

The teenagers shared the ice with three-time World Figure Skating Champion Toller Cranston, two-time World Professional Champion Robert Wagenhoffer, former United States and World Champion Natasha Kuchiki, Canadian star Sylvain Beauregard and ice dancers Tamara Kuchiki and Neale Smull.

Sze-wai said she had first stepped on to the ice when she was two years old.

By 15, she had reached the top level, passing the institute's Freestyle 10 test.

Despite having won a number of championships, Sze-wai, now 16, told Young Post her ambition was to complete a routine without any mistakes.
