The ultra-small WisdomPen Palm Tablet is bundled with special Chinese writing recognition software, according to Motorola's Lexicus division, which is selling the product.

According to Motorola, as Chinese handwriting recognition software improves in accuracy, more people are interested in products like the Palm Tablet.

'More people are using pen-based products, and I foresee that notebook manufacturers also will start integrating this technology into their products,' Elton Sherwin, vice-president of marketing at Motorola Lexicus, told IT Daily.

'There are 80 to 90 per cent PC users in Taiwan and China that use Chinese keyboards. These users will push the demand for handwriting products,' he said.
