A bank robber who kidnapped a Wan Chai hostess for a $100,000 ransom was jailed for 12 years yesterday.
Wong Ming-kwong, 36, was responsible for the 23-year-old woman suffering a 'terrifying, degrading and humiliating experience', said Deputy Judge David Gill.
After being kidnapped by Wong and another man she was tied up, sexually abused, and threatened with being disfigured, the Court of First Instance heard.
Her three-day ordeal ended when her boyfriend handed over the ransom. The pair also withdrew $19,800 from her bank account.
Wong had bought her out from a nightclub on August 31, 1990. He took her to a lookout in Lung Cheung Road, Wong Tai Sin, where his accomplice helped Wong to blindfold and gag her. She was then driven to a stone hut near Fanling. The victim was sexually abused but Wong denied being involved in this.
Wong acted as lookout for an armed gang which stole $41,000 from a Hunghom bank.
