The Internet has become an important marketing tool for property agents. Visiting an estate agent to look at pictures and then having to decide whether to visit the site or not can be tedious. Enter the Internet and the tedium at least becomes manageable. There is no substitute to actually going there, but choosing where to go is now made easier. DBZ is a company that performs a unique function in this new world of media-intensive business opportunities. It is not a company that merely designs Web pages, nor is it a traditional advertising agency. It attempts to help companies looking to use various kinds of media - including CD-ROMs, the Internet, intranets, networking and other, digital-based technologies - to fulfil their business goals. DBZ has already helped Centaline Property Agency use this technology effectively and it is now working on an Internet/intranet project with Chi Cheung Property, formerly known as L & D. Brian Hu, managing director of DBZ, said technology must be made to serve the client's wishes. 'To be effective, use of the Internet and intranets must be localised and tailor-made for specific industries,' he said. 'When a property agent receives a placement from a seller, the agent can register the information on an intranet, letting other agents in different branches search for information. 'Supporting data such as floor plans, photos, maps, building details and historical prices can be entered into the system as well.'
