FORMER Welsh international midfielder Barry Horne has been named as the new chairman of the Professional Footballers' Association (PFA) - the union representing players in England and Wales.

Horne takes over from Pat Nevin who left the post to play in Scotland with Kilmarnock.

Tough-tackling Horne is currently playing for Birmingham City.
