Just hours after the Queen Mary released its findings, the Grantham and Prince of Wales hospitals issued statements acknowledging their own medical mistakes. The Prince of Wales Hospital said a nurse had failed to follow guidelines when she accidentally pumped milk, instead of blood, into a patient's bloodstream. She would receive a verbal warning and no further details of the case would be released, authorities said. Grantham Hospital admitted miscommunication had resulted in a house officer in July injecting an overdose of antibiotics into a heart patient, who later died.
